Going Overboard (album)
''Going Overboard'' is the third album by Bounding Main, released in 2007. It was recorded at SurroundinSoundStudio near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Additional tracks recorded at ConcreteDogBicycle Studio in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Vocomotion Studio in Skokie, Illinois. It features historic, contemporary, and original maritime music.
==Overview==
''Going Overboard'' is an album that demonstrates the diversity found in maritime music. The six-person a cappella group included music with straightforward maritime tunes, complex arrangements, as well as original music on this album. Live recordings were also included on the CD. The group felt that a mix of the simple/complex and traditional/contemporary music was the key to an album that would reach a wide expanse of people.
The album's front cover depicts the group jumping overboard. The CD's title is a play on words demonstrating the group's playful nature. It was designed by Dean Calin, Christie Dalby and Gina Dalby, all members of the group. The members of the group are shown merrily jumping off the ship without regard to the dangerous waters below. The Bounding Main logo is also shown on the left side of the cover. The ship depicted in the photo is ''The Dreadnaught'', owned by Mike Breza and photographed at the Bristol Renaissance Faire, Bristol. The photos of the members of the group were taken in Lake County, Illinois, on a trampoline. The inside liner notes depict Bounding Main falling through the air. The CD has a dark blue background and shows each member of the group floating around the edges of the CD in innertubes.
